Shona Idle (Principal / Teacher)
"For 16 years I taught in the north-east of Scotland until my husband and I migrated to New Zealand in 1999. We spent our first year and a half in Waiuku before moving to St Arnaud in January 2001.".

Current Interests

"Over the years I have played the saxophone, clarinet and guitar but I'm currently concentrating on flute and piano. I enjoy crafts such as knitting and teddy bear making and I'm an avid reader. Swimming (I haven’t yet braved Lake Rotoiti), long walks (especially in the beech forest around St Arnaud) and our two cats are also among my special interests.

Qualifications

M.A Honours in German and French. Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

 


Judy Klaus (Teacher)
"I am a Mum to a daughter, Maysha, and son, Aaron. I am also a very proud Grandma to my Grandson, Finn. I began teaching in 1982 after my two children started school. Since that time I have taught in many schools throughout New Zealand, and have taught primary, secondary and tertiary levels. I have also worked in libraries, museums and in gardens, both in New Zealand, USA and England.

Current Interests

I am and organic gardener, an avid Quarter Horse rider until recent years, a spinner and weaver (both of wool and tall tales), a writer and a gypsy - regularly travelling to far off places whenever the opportunity arises.

Qualifications

Trained Teacher's Certificate, Bachelors Degree in Education, Masters degree in Library and Information Studies.


GILL EYLES (Teacher Aide)
" I’ve been at Lake Rotoiti School for nearly eight years. As well as being a teacher aide I teach piano to 14 eager beavers here at the lake, and another 13 at home".

Current Interests

"Music and reading. I am currently working on a Diploma of Children’s Literature".


RONNIE MARTIN (Release Teacher)

 "I first started teaching 23 years ago. My husband and I run a local farm, I have two sons and one daughter."

Current Interests

Textile art, gardening, music and cooking.
